  cluvertSeveral route upgrades have been made for the next FNB Wines2 Whales mountain bike adventure later this year – the Paul Cluver’s Witklippieskloof bridge among these. Race director Johan Kriegler, pictured on the bridge, says the motto of the race is to create scenic contour trails, instead of ones that just go up and down.

Mixed response to flood alleviation measures

The emergency flood alleviation measures implemented by the City of Cape Town are most welcome, both in terms of scope, and the speed with which they have been implemented, according to Stephen Louw of the Lourens River Conservation Society. Mr Louw was speaking after a presentation by City of Cape Town official Frans van Molkte to Sub-Council 8 at the Strand Council Chamber, on Thursday April 18.
