New Heights for Pebbles Project

  cn_rh_leadsept10TIt's okay, so this column does have a slightly corny name – but at least we’ve lived up to it, in the past year-and-a-half, or however long it’s been. For since we first began speaking about “The Ride of Our Lives”, we’ve shared a hell of a lot with zero to do with wheels, to be honest. About things such as lying in patches of cool clover, staring up at the oaks’ spring leaves, and parenting, and the idea of “wonder”, and blowing dandelions with Boo – and all that fluffy stuff.

Sunrise shuttle

  cn_rh_frontpagesept-tThe Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club – aka the “vehicle transport experts” because of their work transferring vehicles for mountain bikers at the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) MTB events – put the funds generated through their involvement with these three premier MTB stage races to good use, by supporting a number of projects – including the Khomani San Project, Brak en Jan Creche, Youth Services and the HOPE Organisation.

On a wing and a prayer …

  cn_rh_bird2_2-TIn the Boland there are many stories of selflessness and dedication, of devoting a life to a cause that is often unsung. While many feet pass through the doors of the Eagle Encounters centre, located at Spier in Stellenbosch, there are those who are not aware of the sterling work that is achieved by the owners Hank and Tracy Chalmers, who live on Sir Lowry’s Pass.
